Needle Felt Raccoon Lil' Buddy

If you haven't noticed by perusing my gallery, I love dolls. Big, small, intricate, or simple - it doesn't matter the kind of doll, all of them have a place in my heart.

I also love chachkies - so it should come as no surprise that I end up making them a lot.

On my list of various collectables, I've started making needle felt lil' buddies: tiny dolls that are minimally jointed but contain, ounce-for-ounce, every bit of character as my big dolls.

Cunning, cute, and just a little bit chubby, raccoons are a great symbol of the symbiosis between man and nature: without us, they would be just fine, but with us they are absolutely thriving. I've had more than my share of experiences with raccoons, and this little doll is a tribute to every time I've seen the real thing up close and personal (sometimes even in my back-yard!)
